Chensego Divisions

 

* ’All riders’ includes junior, amateur and professional riders

Walk/Trot- Open to non-professional riders of all ages. To be shown at the walk and trot in both directions.  Riders in this division can show only in this division.  Cross rail height may not exceed 1’ at the X.  Riders may opt to jump poles or cross-rails. Points follow rider. Points for hunter and equitation classes count toward one year end award.

Beginner- Open to non-professional riders of all ages. To be shown at the walk, trot and canter in both directions. Fence height not to exceed 18”.  Simple lead changes allowed.  Riders can cross enter any division on the flat, but cannot jump any course that exceeds 2’.  Points follow rider. Points for hunter and equitation classes count toward one year end award.

Green Hunter- Open to all riders.  Open to any horse or pony in its first two-years of showing over fences not greater than 2’6”.  Courses are not to have an in and out combination.  Once a horse or pony is shown over fences exceeding 2’6”, they no longer qualify for the green hunter division.  Points follow horse/pony.

Children’s Hunter – Open to riders ages 17 and under. Open to both horses and ponies.  Fence height not to exceed 2’6”.  Points follow horse/pony.

Adult Hunter – Open to all riders ages 18 and older.  Open to both horses and ponies. Fence height not to exceed 2’6”.  Points follow horse/pony.

Open Equitation– Open to riders of all ages excluding professionals. Open to horses and ponies.  Fence height not to exceed 2’6”.  Points follow rider.

Open Hunter- Open to all riders.  Open to horses and ponies.  Fence height not to exceed 2’9”.  Points follow horse/pony.

Special Hunter – Open to all riders. Open to horses and ponies. Fence height not to exceed 2’3”. The combination may show in any flat class for which they are eligible, but may not jump over 2’3”.  Points follow horse/rider combination.

Low Equitation – Open to riders of all ages excluding professionals. Open to horses and ponies.  Riders not to have competed over fences higher than 2’3”.  Points follow rider.

Pleasure – Open to all riders. Open to horses and ponies. To be shown at the walk, trot, and canter. May be asked to extend trot or hand gallop. Points follow the horse/pony.  Martingales are prohibited in all Pleasure classes.  The division will consist of the following classes:

Bridle Path Hack – To be shown at the walk, trot, canter and possibly extended trot and hand gallop in both directions on a reasonably loose rein with no loss of contact.    To be judged on manners, suitability, performance and substance.

Hunter Hack – To be shown at a walk, trot and canter both ways of the ring.  Exhibitors are required to jump two fences at 2’.

Pleasure – To be shown at the walk, trot and canter both ways of the ring.  Light contact is required.  Horses should be obedient, alert and responsive and move freely.

2’ Hunter – Open to all riders.  Open to horses and ponies. Horse/rider combination may not cross enter in fences over 2’3”.  Simple lead changes allowed. Points follow horse/pony.
